ಸರಳ ಶಬ್ದಮಣಿದರ್ಪಣ

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಜಗತ್ತು, ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಇದೆಯೆಂಬ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯಿದೆ. ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಕಲಿಯಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಅರಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ವ್ಯವಧಾನ ಮತ್ತು ವಿನಯವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಅಕ್ಷರ ಅನ್ನವಾಗುವ ಬಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಎಂಬುದರ ಕುರಿತು ವಾಸ್ತವಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ತನ್ನ ಚಿಂತನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಧುನಿಕ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಏಕಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡುವ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವದ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮೂಲಕ ಪಡೆಯುವ ಸ್ಥಾಯಿ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಈ ಕೃತಿಯ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ವೈಯಾಕರಣಿ ಕೇಶಿರಾಜನ ಶಬ್ದಮಣಿದರ್ಪಣ ಭಾರತೀಯ ವ್ಯಾಕರಣಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಕೃತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಬ್ದಮಣಿದರ್ಪಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಗೆ ಸಮ್ಮಂದಿಸಿ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ವ್ಯಾಕರಣಗ್ರಂಥವಿದು. ಕೇಶಿರಾಜ ತನ್ನ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವ್ಯಾಕರಣ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳನ್ನು ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸಿ ಶಬ್ದಮಣಿದರ್ಪಣವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿರುವನು. ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೂ ವಿದ್ವಾಂಸರಿಂದ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪರಿಷ್ಕರಣೆಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಡಾ.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್.ಅಂಗಡಿಯವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ, ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ರಚಿಸಿರುವರು. ಶಬ್ದಮಣಿದರ್ಪಣದ ಸೂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಕ್ಕನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ವಿಂಗಡಿಸಿ, ಹೊಸಗನ್ನಡ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯೊಂದನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದ ಡಾ.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್.ಅಂಗಡಿಯವರು ಅಪರೂಪದ ವಿದ್ವಾಂಸರು. ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
