Yog Yodhas is the story of Bir and Bala. They are orphaned siblings living in the school-sanctuary VidyAshray, deep within Kuruva Island. At VidyAshray, they learn various subjects, along with yoga and the ancient martial art, Kalaripayattu. In the previous book, the siblings found out that their birthmarks stand for their Praani or spirit creatures. A mysterious stranger called Vyan taught them how to call their Praani. However, Vyan had ulterior motives and was chased away from VidyAshray. But something's wrong! There are monstrous creatures haunting the island. Who are they?
